What is PlanetRead?
PlanetRead is the intelligent interface between a non-intelligent terminal and a demanding PC. PlanetRead closes the gap between transponder data and the further processing of same at a PC.
PlanetRead can be seen as a modular system consisting of the following components:
Connection to the reading device
There is no limitation to the number of reading devices that can be connected to PlanetRead. It is also perfectly possible to use various types of reading device in conjunction with a PlanetRead application.
Integrated data bank (optional)
Integrated into the program at the customer's request, this data bank can be used not only for storing data but also for breaking it down to varying degrees and in various ways. The results can be used to produce an expert professional analysis of that data, leading to a swift "success story" - a tribute to the quality of your business procedures.
The reporting element of PlanetRead offers you a further asset in respect of data mining.
Reporting (optional feature connected with the integrated data bank)
In addition to the standard evaluations offered to you by the integrated data bank, you, as a customer - even without in-depth knowledge of the data bank/data mining sector - can carry out highly-specialised data analyses and standardise them. You can, for example, use this option to present an animal's complete life history in a form that is immediate and easily analysed.
Export module (optional)
Our export modules, which can be specially adapted to suit your individual requirements, allow you to transmit the reading device's data in a processed form directly to your other applications - for example, to your warehouse or storage facility or as an entry into a "digital animal document". It is of course also possible to process the data in standard software applications such as Microsoft Excel™, thus taking into account your own personal work methods and allowing the data to be assimilated as quickly as possible.
Data transfer table (optional)
This enables you to transfer automatically data captured by the reading device. If, for example, you have the transponder number stored in the reading device but want to do further work internally on an ear tag number, you need only feed the data once into PlanetRead and the transfer will take place automatically.

The PlanetRead toolbar (Windows version)
The intuitive PlanetRead toolbar means it won't be long before you've mastered the operation of the programme's main functions. This toolbar allows you to perform several tasks at once, while its structure and appearance were consciously designed to reflect those of operating systems from Microsoft™.
Reader interfaces
This is where you define the reading device you wish to use with PlanetRead. You can of course add further reading devices at a later date and use several interfaces.
Data bank administrator
The internal data bank may be simply and flexibly customised by the purchaser to meet his/her specific requirements. You can also use more than one data bank for a given project. You will find all this easy to accomplish on your own, but we will of course be glad to help if required.
Export interfaces
What is to become of your data once it has been read in? The example below shows an Excel table generated according to requirements set out by the customer. Further output functions can of course be added on at any time. If you are already using special software applications for the further processing of your data, we would be happy to consult with the manufacturer and then explain to you the possibilities of using PlanetRead for a direct data transfer - this can often save you many inputting jobs that currently have to be carried out manually.

For the installation itself: between 5 and 50 MB, depending on the extent of the functions to be installed. For the data bank, depending on the volume of the function, it is recommended to allow 250 MB.
