We offer a range of reading devices with which animal transponders may be activated and their identification numbers read. The exchange of information between reading device and transformer is based on a frequency of 134.2 kHz.
In each instance, the reading range depends on the size and nature of the respective antennae of transponder and reading device, and on the position of the animal relative to the reader.
Our readers are ideal for use by either men or women, as suited to left-handed as to right-handed people, and convenient to handle and operate, with all buttons equally easy to reach.
1. Breeder Reader
This reads all FDX-B transponders, regardless of the manufacturer.
It's small, light, easy to use and sits comfortably in the hand, and has a diagonal ferrite antenna. Its reading range is approximately 5 cm
(glass transponder, 2.12 mm x 12 mm).
The antenna positioning of the Breeder Reader is designed to optimise the reading range following implanting of the transponder into a dog or cat.

2. Ges reader
The antenna positioning of the Breeder Reader is designed to optimise the reading range following implanting of the transponder into a dog or cat.
The GES2S is equipped with a real time clock, so that every work process can be stored with date and time. Up to 14 fields may be defined for an application and data may be entered into the equivalent field for every animal read. For instance, the quantity of new born animals, the sex, the vaccination status, health status, weight and any other data may be captured.
A brilliant link between the GES2S and your own management software may be effected with our software tool PlanetRead.

3. Iron Reader
This reader has a significantly larger antenna that is integrated into its underside in the form of an air coil. It is easy to use and can read the following transponder types: FDX-B and HDX, Annex-A of ISO 11784/85 (Destron, Trovan), industrial transponders like the EM 4102 (ASK 64-bit Manchester coding).
Technical Information
It has a cable computer interface (RS 232 or RS 485) and has the additional option of an infra-red interface (Irda). The iron reader has a larger display panel, making the information easier to read. Reading range: for FDX-B ear tags (29 mm diameter), approximately10-30 cm. For FDX-B injected transponders (glass transponders of 2.12 mm x 12 mm), the reading range is between
10-20 cm, and for HDX eartags (29 mm diameter) the reading range is generally around 10-44 cm, all the above being dependent on the orientation of the transponder relative to the reader's antenna. Should you have further questions regarding the above, please e-mail us at:
contact@planet-id.com
Reading ranges are always expressed as "from – to", to take account of the different way the antenna may be oriented.
